    Invitation only, I'm flattered.

Yeah will be brilliant, not been to one of these days for a while and they are always top days. Will hopefully manage to keep things sensible with the free bar and fingers crossed for a wee final table. 70 runners as far as I know.

Cheers H. Yeah will be a great day I'm sure, be nice to get a decent run and a cash place.

Played the Alea game yesterday, blinds were 100/200, 2 limpers before me on the button so I raised to 1100 with my TT. One call, flop comes KJT giving me a set. Checked to me so I bet 2200, guy announces all in so I snap called and showed my set. Bloke shows AK, turn 4, river Q. Live poker definitely rigged.

Not long now, really looking forward to this now.

Big thanks to the 6 folk who bothered to wish us luck, will definitely give it our best shot, hopefully a nice run of cards and who knows.

Here's an observation; Myself and DD get a cracking invite to what will be a cracking day, and, a massive 6 folk wish us luck. Yet, in the happy birthday thread everyone goes mad telling folk to have a great day etc etc when most of the folk getting showered with good wishes aint been in here for a very long time and will definitely never read it. Go figure - I just don't get it.

I've said it before and more recently discussed it with a senior member, for a public discussion forum that needs numbers to flourish etc, some, actually most in here have a lot to learn. It almost pains me to say it, but having been involved with a good few forums over the years this one is, by a street, the most unwelcoming antisocial board I have visited. Whether folk agree or not I'm afraid it's a fact.

Had a wee think before replying to this. I think unwelcoming and anitsocial is harsh. But i do agree a lot of members aint posting and getting involved enough. We are supposed to be a community and we should all be getting behind Ed n DD on a big occassion like this with the legendary banter spirit , but wheres it gone?? Its been quiet around here recently but its not just this thread thats lacking enthusiasm theres plenty more. Lets all get back on board and get the banter community thriving once again!!

Wont make it up tomorrow guys but once again good luck and take it down

Good luck with the cards but just enjoy the day and hopefully pics to follow - here or FB.

We got senior members - what you saying about me?

Thought I'd kick start 3 threads - 1 of which got a bit of interest. But noticed very little said after one of our games last night!! Even less said about another I made last night that's very dear to my heart - ah well.....

I'd disagree in principle with your last comment though as you have said differently in the past. I think the honeymoon period has maybe worn off for you though but do agree that things have gone a bit quiet (too quiet even). But the heart and gut of the forum is still there and just needs kick-started again. I can point you in the direction of a couple of very anti-social forums though

Anyhoo, all the best to you both tomorrow, have a great day.

    I have to take umbrage.
I have seen many forums and this was one of the friendliest and had good community spirit amongst the regulars, who also were very welcoming to new visitors like myself recently, and for that reason I decided to revisit and participate more.
It is true that it has a somewhat scottish orientation and some threads are not relevant to those not within commuting distance of glasgow.

Threads that international visitors may not visit very often might be fitbaw banter, sky sports or glasgow casinos.

I don't usually comment on these subjects, because my mother taught me, if you don't have anything nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all.

BigH your efforts to re-invigorate the forum are good.

And finally good luck DD in the tournament.

If I win cash goes towards a new kitchen, if Ed wins he wants a better car for going to work......since I hardly let him near the BMW and he's left with his wee Fiesta that only has a roasting setting whether the heater is on or not!

I rest my case. Pity your mother's wise words fell on deaf ears.

Again thanks to the sensible few who actually presented a constructive point and kind wishes.

I've had tiffs in here before where shallow people post, well, downright needless posts with only one aim. I ain't getting involved with the aforementioned types again because frankly I'm better than that. It's not healthy and certainly does the forum no good.

Manyk came in here with a very poorly veiled post, but truly he/she had only one intent which was the cheap needless shot at me at the end. Pathetic!

Have fun guys and again thanks to the genuine few.

I've stewed over this for over an hour - usually a good sign I either don't make a response or I end up on some tirade.

Pretty frustrated with the development of this thread and shaking my head at such negativity; heart pounding; stress building and feel I'm in between a rock and a hard place - again!!

I've made a post on remembrance. Believe me guys, there is a hell of a lot worse things in life as I have said. This truly is pitiful on my grand scale of what is good and bad and by the tone of this post you can tell emotionally I don't care.

This is a great forum and many of us have known each other for many years now; so keep the talk going, sharing your experiences and being honest to each other. There's often a sharpness to the banter and tonight it has been overlooked!!
